Tiel Janssen makes kostuums en juwelen vanuit onconventionele materialen en vanuit de expressie. “Voor de ontwerper is een vreemd materiaal geen vraag meer. Het is een middel om resultaat te bereiken in de verbeelding, oftewel het realiseren van een gedachte, gevoel en emotie in materie.
Costumes
“At the beginning of a project, I never know what the result will look like", says Tiel Janssen. “I have a feeling with the material and I let it grow and grow. I see a shape and the material and the strong points of both. That is exactly what I use to design, develop and realise a costume. When I work, I feel the energy.”
Jewellery
Over the years, Tiel Janssen worked with a wide range of materials. “The process of creating new shapes from materials by combining, different element, that's what I love."
Working with new and unconventional materials is always exciting. It's like opening a door without knowing what will behind it.
